December
gave us an unusual job.  Pallasite is a meteorite consisting of
Olivine(Peridot) and Nickel Iron.  A Client aquired a piece of this
Pallasite and wished to use the stone in a class ring.  The challenge of
this particular metallic/stone compound is that the crystals of gem are
harder in substance than the metal.  This created a problem in cutting
and polishing of the finished cabochons.  Matt took this project on as a
personal challenge, but he does not recommend this stone, Pallasite, to
be used in any of his future cutting projects. Included are photos
during cutting and of the finished piece.  Neat photos though and a
great job Matt! Enjoy!by CJD.Sign
